Have a plan when the urge hits

Hi everyone, todays blog post was written my friend Ana Cukic, the Retrofit Pilates specialist with whom I am leading the 10 Day Food Elimination Detox.  This post is especially meant for those motivated ladies at Retrofit and hopefully everyone else who reads this will feel inspired too:

I first wanted to thank you all, in helping make my first class at Retrofit a great experience.  You were open to trying something new, and I think we created some great energy to help connect us and motivate us through the next 4 weeks.  Nothing like shaking your bits in front of strangers to help break down barriers!

So I decided to walk the talk this week and “have a plan when the urge hits”, and since we focused this past Sunday on breath,  my backup plan became to stop and breathe when I want to lose my s**t.  (excuse the expletive)  I am a passionate person, intense in joy and anger, my issue has always been my “reaction”.  But having a son, and wanting to be a good role model, I want to show him a different way to resolve emotional strife.  Because our children are our greatest mirror, I wanted to look at him and be proud that he learned that from me…which I’m now very thankful he has my family and friends helping me raise him:)  But back to breathing, just in creating that pause, by consciously stopping to take ‘a’ breath, I stop the “reaction”.  Instead of igniting the flame, I diffuse it with breath…just like a candle.  I’m not perfect, but I’m choosing to stop and breathe about 50/50 now…and that’s a pretty good start!  I feel good, in that it is a small enough step that is having a great impact on my well being and on the stress level of those around me.  I challenge you to think about where you in your life can take a small enough step that creates a meaningful change in your life for the better…and then as NIKE says “Just Do It!”.

Is there a way I can help you in your own journey… please let me know.
Cheers to you all!  Ana
